“IT’S NOT JUST FOR CHRISTMAS ANYMORE!”

The Kid’s Day Out program held Monday, May 24, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Rockin ‘R’ River Rides for the children of SafePlace-Austin was a great success. There were twenty-two children ranging in age from four to twelve and eight SafePlace teachers and counselors attending.

Kudos go to Eva Edwards Bourret and her capable San Antonio MPI-THCC members who handled the planning details. Special thanks go to the contributors: Rick and Zero Rivers and Lisa Polk for providing the wonderful setting of the Rockin ‘R’ River Rides and the water guides, Steven, Jay and Sharon, DuWayne Greene and Alex the Dog Mascot of Premier Meetings and Dayne Sullivan of Adventures LLC for planning and cooking the hamburger and hotdog cook-out, Annette Norman of Sheraton Gunter Hotel as assistant chef and clean up crew, Nancy Jeffreys, Nancy J’s Gift Services for the prizes, Brenda Rodriquez of Holiday Inn Riverwalk for the gifts, Sheryl Rivers for the Rockin ‘R” T-shirts, Jean Tumlinson of Flying L Guest Ranch for organizing the moon walk donated by Anywhere Fun LLC: Party Rental Games of Texas, Sharon Dobbs of Team Dynamics and Jay Herbert and Steve Hornsby for doing such a great job of handling all the team building activities for the children, Arlene Davie of Travel Planners, Inc. for taking and donating the Polaroid pictures for the kids, Mary Reynolds- our MPI President and owner of Around Austin, Inc. for providing refreshments on the bus and arranging the hotel rooms for the river guides and last but not least, John Lahman, owner of A Big Bus Company for providing and driving the bus for the kids.
